HIRMAINI: Preparing to do battle with Ulysses

Hirmaini is the daughter of the Sphinx. When Ulysses enters their Kingdom Hirmaini wants him for her slave. The Sphinx sets Ulysses a challenge, as he must of all travellers passing through his Kingdom. When Ulysses successfully meets the challenge Hirmaini is unhappy and lures his children to the room which holds the Mirror of Truth. Only the Sphinx himself has the right to look into the Mirror of Truth and must set Ulysses a second challenge in order for him to win his freedom. The choice of challenge is left to Hirmaini, who uses her powers to duplicate herself many times and attack Ulysses. Just as Hirmaini is about to win and claim Ulysses as her slave, Telemachus and Yumi burst in carrying the Mirror of Truth, which reveals Hirmaini's true heart. Terrified by what she sees, Hirmaini runs to her father for comfort and so begins the long road to recovery.
