The Minotaur o MinotauroV Le Minotaure

The Minotaur is a large bull-like creature which inhabits the Labyrinth. The Labyrinth itself was constructed by King Minos as a prison for those who had crossed him. The prisoners were thrown into the Labyrinth, a huge, complex, structure and left to meet their fate at the hands of the Minotaur. Theseus was just such a prisoner. His "crime" was to be in love with Ariadne, Minos's daughter. Theseus is imprisoned in the Labyrinth and manages to keep out of the Minotaur's way. Ulysses and Ariadne enter the Labyrinth, looking for Theseus, and eventually find him.

Ulysses has been told by the Oracle that there where Theseus is lies the route back to Earth. Attracted by the group the Minotaur appears and Ulysses, Theseus and Ariadne have to battle for their very lives. Theseus kills the Minotaur, and as it lies dying, Ulysses asks Theseus for the route to Earth. Theseus does not know, and it is only then that Ulysses realises that it is the Minotaur himself who holds the knowledge. It is too late, however: as the Minotaur lies dying it can telepathically project onto a wall only confused fragments of the route and Ulysses is once again cheated of the way home.
